Tissue flower tutorial

Today I'm gonna show you how to make some simple flowers with tissue paper. They look like peonies to me- my favorite flowers.

All you need is;

 scissors

 tissue paper

craft wire

(If you don't have any craft wire you can use those twist ties or whatever they are called that you get at the grocery store)

Cut 7 pieces of tissue paper. Layer the paper so you just have to cut once;)
I cut about 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Place the pieces on top of each other.

Scrunch them up in a little ball

Unfold

Make a fan fold starting at the short end

Use the wire to secure in the middle and now you will have a bow tie looking thingy

GENTLY take layer by layer and pull up towards the middle. Repeat will all the 7 sheets on both sides.

And now it's done. Super easy!
Great flowers for cards or scrapbook pages. And the kids can make them too.( I actually learned this from my kids )

If you want to add some bling or pazazz as my daughter calls it, you can spray the flower with glimmer mist or add glitter. Here I did both...I don't think I like it, but I usually never like glitter in any form or shape...but I tried;)

Click here if you want to know how to make your own glimmer mist.

That's it for today. See you real soon:)

Tissue paper roses

I'm still sitting here in the hotel room with my fingers itching and I'm having major cutting withdrawals. So I just had to go and get myself some scissors. It was the best ones I ever had. So sharp and perfect for detailed cutting. I highly recommend Cutter Bee's scissors from EK success.

For the longest time I've been meaning to try to work with tissue paper and now was the perfect time. So with my new scissors, a glue stick and tissue paper I made some roses.
I made them exactly the same way as I did the rolled up card stock roses.

I'm almost positive that the tissue paper is not acid free so I don't know if I would put them on a layout. But they could look nice on a present.
I've been trying to find some spray that can make your projects acid free. Anyone has any idea what it's called and where I can find it?

I'm gonna go back to my scissors now and see if I can find something to cut up;)
