I've been thinking about all the things that I can't scrap without and I made a top ten list which I wanted to share with you.
#1 Adobe PhotoShop Elements (PSE)
I use PSE on e v e r y single photo I take! For real!
I'm not an outstanding photographer in any way so I need all the help I can get to make the photos look good.
My favorite thing to do with the pictures is to adjust the colors.
to black and white
see how much better I look in b/w ;)
I also like to "pump-up" the colors a bit
here- just an ordinary day
and now it's sunnier and more fun, huh?
sometimes you just have to help reality
Another thing I do with PSE is to add a filter.
Look at this crazy pic of me and my gray skin
I think this filter("film grain") works perfect with the photo
To have a b/w photo with spots of colors, you duplicate the layers and make the top layer b/w. Then you use the eraser-tool to rub off the b/w where you want colors. The colors will reveal from the colored photo underneath.Make sense?
When I'm done with my layout and have scanned it, ( I will talk about my scanner shortly. It's on my list as well) guess what I do?
I adjust the colors of the finished layout in PSE!
Is that crazy or what? I first edit the photos and then I edit the layout. No wonder I spend so much time in front of the computer.
Here's a before and after picture of a scanned layout.
after adjusting the colors in PSE
It's not a huge difference, but I always make the layout a bit darker and "pump-up" the colors again:)
I have PhotoShop Elements 7, but now they have PhotoShop Elements 9 out. It's $ 99, but I saw it at Amazon.com for $68.89 which is a good deal!
If and when you buy it, don't do what I did the first time; I tossed the serial number and when the computer crashed...well, I just had to go and buy me a new one...computer AND PSE that is...
I can't survive one day without PhotoShop!
