It's time for me to introduce the second guest designer this year. Her name is Kathy Ahlsman and this is what she sais:
Hi!My name is Kathy and I am a scrappinpsycho. I spend much of my time in The Psycho's Asylum where I create scrapbook albums to capture the lives and memories of my 3 beautiful grandchildren. I live in Austin, Texas with my husband of 37 years and our 7 year old grandson. I am very fortunate that my other 2 grandchildren (and #3 on the way) live here in town.
I have been scrapping for about 15 years - or as far back as I can remember. I also keep busy with my challenge blog: Scrap Our Stash and my personal blog The Scrappinpsycho - News from the Asylum.
I really enjoy Helen's sketches and was honored to chosen to be a part of the Guest Design Team. One of my goals for 2011 is to complete at least 1 layout with each of her sketches.
I completed 2 different layouts using Sketch #41 - I have another one in the works - but time has not allowed me to finish it for this post.
I have also included some of the other layouts I have done using Helen's wonderful sketches.
The 100th day - was actually a scrap lift from a magazine - and then later I scraplifted it a second time for "Beyond Words". I used an advertisement from a Hobby Lobby magazine for the printed paper on this layout. It wasn't until later that I discovered Helen and her sketches that I realized that this was actually one of her sketches.
I love Helen's clean simple style. She is my "go to" sketch source. I don't normally use the same layout or sketch more than once - but have found Helen's to be so versatile and adaptable that I tend to repeat them.
Thanks so much for this opportunity.
This is sketch # 41 that Kathy worked with,
and her two awesome takes on it:)
Here's some of Kathy's layouts based on my earlier sketches;
Aren't they all just so lovely?
I like how Kathy's style is so clean and simple, where the photos are the focal point- just as it should be!
Thanks for your kind words Kathy and also for sharing your work with us.
