Tissue flower tutorial

Today I'm gonna show you how to make some simple flowers with tissue paper. They look like peonies to me- my favorite flowers.

All you need is;

 tissue paper

craft wire

(If you don't have any craft wire you can use those twist ties or whatever they are called that you get at the grocery store)

Cut 7 pieces of tissue paper. Layer the paper so you just have to cut once;)
I cut about 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Place the pieces on top of each other.

Scrunch them up in a little ball

Make a fan fold starting at the short end

Use the wire to secure in the middle and now you will have a bow tie looking thingy

GENTLY take layer by layer and pull up towards the middle. Repeat will all the 7 sheets on both sides.

And now it's done. Super easy!
Great flowers for cards or scrapbook pages. And the kids can make them too.( I actually learned this from my kids )

If you want to add some bling or pazazz as my daughter calls it, you can spray the flower with glimmer mist or add glitter. Here I did both...I don't think I like it, but I usually never like glitter in any form or shape...but I tried;)

Click here if you want to know how to make your own glimmer mist.

That's it for today. See you real soon:)

Back from the retreat!

Hi Ladies!

I'm back from my scrapbook retreat!! I had such a blast! 3 days filled with non-stop scrapping together with a bunch of fun ladies. Plus no cooking and cleaning. Could it get any better than that?

I thought I'd share some pics from the weekend.

Here's the gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean from our scrap room.

Here's half of the room we invaded.

This is what we served everyone when they came Friday morning:) You can see some of our prizes in the background.

Here's Jill that I planned the retreat with. Cheers!

Here's the whole bunch (minus 1) looking kinda normal

And here- a little crazy:

I got 7 layouts done, which is not too impressive ( the winner got 58 done!!?)  But it's 7 more than last retreat.
I slept a little and laughed A LOT!

Even though I slept 14 hours straight when I got back home I could do this again next week.

I have already started to plan for our next retreat. Hopefully we can squeeze in one more this year.
If you haven't been to a scrapbook retreat yet, you should totally try to find one near you. It's so much fun!

I know I promised another flower tutorial and I will post it this week, but before that I will share a new sketch and some inspiration from the design team.
