I'm gonna cook some for the single Marines (that are far away from their mommy's home cooked Thanksgiving meal) I'm also cooking for Conrad's class, for Elsa's Brownie troop and for our own get-together on Thursday. Yep, it will be fun! I love to cook and bake. If I wasn't so busy, I would totally start a food blog and share my favorite recipes...
But for now I keep myself busy with this blog.
I have actually thought about starting a Ning.site for the simple reason that then you could all upload your layouts there, based on my sketches. But it will probably take a few weeks before I figure all that out.
I will still keep this blog though. The Ning.site would just be for my sketches.
I made two new ones based on some old layouts. The layouts are not spectacular in any way, but I like the clean design.

You can win 21 gorgeous fall papers from Me and My Big Ideas
All you have to do to be in the drawing is to leave a comment to this post.
And I want it to be a totally random comment.
You know how kids have a tendency to blurt out random and weird comments all the time. My son is an expert at that. He can wake up and yell: -Happy cheese day, mom! :)
Think like a kid and leave your comment. The one that makes my laugh the most will get the prize!
I'm working on a few great tutorials. Another flower and gift bag how-to is coming soon.
FYI:I've been asked to Guest Blog for Scrapbook News and Review
I didn't think much of it until I saw some other guest bloggers there ...like Kelly Goree and Teresa Collins. Wow! I feel just a little bit intimidated now. Why on earth they asked me ( and how did they find me) I don't know? I just know I have to save a p-r-e-t-t-y good tutorial for them.

Time to go. Before I head into the kitchen I'm gonna go and work out with Oprah Winfrey's trainer!! Sorry, but I just like saying that so much. Yes, so it's front of the TV and yes, it's on the Wii, hey..but still;)
Have a great Thanksgiving ya'll and don't forget now to leave that random comment .

A woman from Sweden, in Japan, cooking Thanksgiving meals for our American soldiers. Beautiful. Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving.

Stand back I'm weeding stones!
I spent the weekend rolling papers...for a LO--not for anything else!!!
I realized I am addicted to scrapbooking when I was at the PO the other day and bought a book of stamps----because I thought they would be awesome for a LO! Did we need stamps? No---but we will sometime...right...
"It is H-A-M," said my dd at her Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast when I told her to eat her turkey.
We have wild turkeys roaming through our backyard quite often. We all love to watch the funny way they walk. We laugh as they fly -not so gracefully into the trees. We super duper enjoy when the Toms are all strutting around with their feathers out. Dd especially loves them so she declared that it was H-A-M! I didn't argue.
SUPERCALAFREDULISTICEXBEALIDOSCIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So what do you think about that? Congrats on becoming a srap reveiwer I think would be a lot of fun!!!

In the words of my autistic son "Don't be mad. They don't know they're stupid"
Well you wanted random..... Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Do you want a orange pasta pickle milkshake?
Okay I read thru the comments and although I consider myself a fairly humorous person (yes that is self declared, not proven) I have to say nothing I say can top the one a couple posts above me "Don't be mad, they don't know they're stupid." THAT is priceless and I love it!
While making our thankful tree with my children and neighbor boy...the little neighbor boy said he was "thankful for wal-mart because it gets him stuff!"
Thanks for all you do, you are truly amazing!
Random thought from my 6yr old on way to tennis lesson... "mum, if I end up on TV for tennis, I dont want to do it anymore cause I get stage fright"!!!!! and this is only after the second lesson!!!!
Have a lovely Thanksgiving. We dont celebrate that here over in New Zealand, will have to wait until Christmas for our big feast!!!
My Dad has been gone for several years now but Thanksgiving always makes me think of his Pumpkin Bars and the first time I made them....Who was I to know that there were ground cloves, whole cloves and maybe even chopped cloves! You got it... the recipe called for cloves. I had cloves! The recipe makes a full jelly roll pan size and 1 teaspoon of cloves ddn't seem like much so I added a couple more teaspoonfuls. They smelled so good while baking... after they had cooled I frosted them with cream cheese frosting. Time now to share... I will take some to Dad! So very proud of myself I couldn't wait to see Dad's reaction that I made the pumpkin bars that year. Dad takes ones... starts to chew and goes to pull something out of his mouth... Oh NO! I thought - a hair?.... Actually he pulled a couple things from his mouth.... You got it - whole cloves! He about broke a tooth and to this day I will never forget his reaction. We laughed and laughed and laughed with tears running down our faces.
ok.... this is a little risque so......WARNING.....WARNING........NOT INTENDED FOR LITTLE EARS........
I have a new name at work now...

Awesome RAK Helen and lookin forward to your Ning when you start it!
You want random? Here you go...this morning my 6 year old son was quietly singing to himself and apparently couldn't decide what song he wanted to sing. So, it ended up, "Frosty the Snowman lived on Drury Lane with Old Man Muffin...." I almost spit my coffee out all over my laptop!
By the way-- LOVE the new sketches!!!
These are great, I know what you mean about time for a food blog, I have one and I just don't have time to update it.
Going to try and do at least 2 of these sketches, before the end of the week.
Wow, that is a lot of cooking, so nice and generous of you!!
As my two year old son told me this morning: I don't need a new diaper I just need to keep my kitty tail!!
Gotta love the things they come up with!
Enjoy your holiday!
I think blue-haired bobble head dolls are much cooler than that snake over there.
This time change and chilly weather make me wish I was a bear so I could hibernate! Have a great Thanksgiving! :)
True story - when I was just 2.5 yrs old my parents brought my newborn sister home from the hospital and said "This is your sister Lori." I looked at her and said "No. Me call her Charlie." They claim to have no idea where I got the name Charlie. I hadn't used it before, didn't have any friends, relatives, or popular TV characters named that. Anyway, to this day "Charlie" is her nickname.
My husband took his dad to VA hospital today and he ended up in the ER himself!! They just got home. So glad they are both ok. Now I want some ice cream!

if any of you have seen Transformers 2, the movie, you will appreciate this.
there is a little decepticon (robot) in the movie that the girl sort of keeps as a little pet...like, she keeps it on a leash like a dog, right? stay with me here...
at one point, the little thing starts humping her leg saying "say my name, say my name..."
my 5 yr. old did THIS TO ME the other day. one second we were doing a happy dance b/c he cleaned his room, and the next, he's on my leg saying "say my name...say my name"
ahhhh!!!
I have Asian descent (Japanese) and one day a boy asked me: Do you see in half?
You have some seriously funny blog followers! I love, love, LOVE your new sketches and your "snow fun" LO ROCKS!!!
I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old who constantly say funny random things to me and do you think I can remember any of them now?! One little anecdote I'll share ... one night my husband and I were sitting in our family room watching tv while our two girls were upstairs playing in their playroom. We heard a few screams but nothing to get us off the couch. Then we heard "bad girl! time out!!" and we looked at each other like, do we need to intervene here? When suddenly our then 1.5 year old came downstairs, into the family room, straight into the "naughty corner", and sat down facing the wall!
I have never laughed so hard!! Hope it makes you chuckle!
happy thanksgiving, helen!
why do your feet smell like apricots?? ;-)
Well, my daughter is only 16 months and can't really say anything too funny, but... I was ironing her dress for Thanksgiving and the bow was all wrinkled so I had to iron it, well then it was all flat, so I poofed it up and sprayed it with more starch. Then, I thought to myself, "I love starch, it's like hairspray for clothes!" So, I decided that was the funniest random comment I could think of, hope it makes you laugh! :)
Working retial on Black Friday our motto is.....
I get paid by the hour, not by the number of transactions. =)
while taking our 4 yr. old grandson on his first fishing trip, we came across a smelly skunk on the road...my grandson pipes up from the back seat " I SMELL A STUNK" we turned around and said" no hon, its called a SKUNK..to which he shook his little blond head and was very indigent "uh uh..pa-pa I said, its a STUNK, and that's the way u say it"
... to this day we all go around saying "STUNK"
I did a scrapbook LO on it so someday his little boy can laugh with his dad about this....oh yea I forgot to mention, on the way home he insisted on holding the box of left-over crickets, which he would not hear of us letting them go at the lake. he wanted to take them home!!! I said very sternly" in my most grandmotherly voice, yea right.lol" ok but do not open that lid. famouse last words! when we got to the house we exited that car in record time..crickets were everywhere..everywhere. I took a bag into the house, not thinking, and we had crickets in that house for a week..lol..
he is now 16, plays varsity football, and is bigger than I'am. he is our only grandson, and our pride and joy,,and still doing things that crack us up..
"'m not sleeping in her bed, it might have diseases"This came from a 9 year old Thanksgiving afternoon when told he was sleeping in a teenagers room for the night, since she was going to be gone.signed sunnyrc2001

We have been putting out Christmas decorations over the last few days. I had just about forgotten my new 'Charlie Brown Christmas Tree'. I took it out of the box and started to bend the branches, when my 6 yr. old son says "mom, that tree is really lame."
I just found your sketches and I am in love! This is my fave story: I had a Mexican client that I sent suckers home for his little girl. One nite she would not eat dinner and Mom said "Norma - if you do not eat I am going to have Daddy tell J not to send suckers home anymore" She still did not eat, so the Dad went to the phone and pretended to call me. When he hung up - Norma said "Oh Daddy, J doesn't speak Spanish!" lol
I love your sketches - they are so unique. Can't wait to do all of them!
Thanks for sharing!
That is a lot of cooking, so nice and generous of you!!I just love your bag..so nice .I'm gonna try to do same.
Hugs from Brazil

I think my postman thinks im a nut. I love getting mail that much that when i hear him on his bike i stick my head up to the window to see if he puts anything in my letter box. and now because i think he thinks i am a nut, i try to be inconspicuous about this which just makes me seem like more of a nut because now just the top of my head pops up over the window sill lol.
Oh Yay i got mail :-)
