Make your own glimmer mist!

Have you heard about glimmer mist? Honestly, I heard about it for the first time two days ago, when I came across a tutorial where it was needed.

You can buy it already made. I know they have it here at scrapbook.com's superstore.
I would have been willing to pay the almost $7 for a bottle, but I wanted/needed it right away and they didn't have it at Michael's:( So home I went to google it and found ways to make it myself. I went back to Michael's and I picked up something called Perfect Pearls from Ranger Ink
"Powdered glitter" I guess it can be described as. If you have it, all you need is a empty spray bottle. I found some from Ranger Ink , but you can use any travel size spray bottle.

You will also need to add some color. I used re inker, but food color, egg dye and water color can also be used.

Fill up the spray bottle with water, add a few drops of color. Amount depends on how much mist you are making and how intense you want the color to be.

Use a Popsicle stick and fill the tip of it with Perfect pearls and add it to the spray bottle. That's how easy it is to make your own glimmer mist! Just shake and spray away. Your projects will have such a nice shimmer to them.

I used it for these cute roses. Click on the photo to see it close up.

I'm working on the tutorial for these roses and will be back shortly;)

Thanks for the cool tips about misting! I've spent a small fortune on the ready-made Glimmer Mist, but I'll give your idea a try.

Can't wait to see the tutorial on the roses! They are gorgeous!

Can I just say, thank you for sharing your expertise with us. All of your techniques are great for any page, but I'm working on lots of wedding LOs for my bff and her DIL and I need all the help I can get!

Doesn't Perfect Pearls have a binder in it? It gets stuck in the spray nozzel. I don't just want the Glimmer, I really like the colors of the Mist.

I have Faerie Dust which is a Pearlized Pigment Powder, can I fill a mister bottle 1/2 full of rubbing alcohol, fill the rest with water and add 1/8 tsp Faerie Dust? Or do I need to add some reinker for more color? Rosie

Dilluted acrylic paint works quite well in the Ranger spray bottles to give a muted and rainbow color effect. The Glimmer Mist is extremely pricey for what you get. I bought a bottle of bronze and it's so light that I wasted my money. I'd rather mix my own colors, but I will experiment with inks and other things that you are using.

The 'glimmer' that is used in Glimmer mist is powdered mica. It comes in 100s of colors and is available on the internet.

I have a product called radiant pearls. It was made by angelwings Enterprises who is no longer in business. They are a liquid paints that I've had for a long time and are going to waste. Does anyone know if I can use them to create glimmer mist?
